Our Story

Tail Wind Rescue started with two siblings, Katie and Teddy, and a shared belief that every animal deserves a second chance. After rescuing our own pets and seeing firsthand the joy they brought into our lives, we felt called to do more. What began as a family passion turned into a for-purpose organization dedicated to rescuing shelter animals, flying them to safety, and helping them find the loving homes they deserve. Every rescue is personal to us—because we know the difference one animal can make.

Flight Program

Flight Coordination

Our Flight Program is at the heart of what we do—providing life-saving air transport for at-risk animals in overcrowded shelters. We partner with shelters across the region to identify dogs and cats in urgent need, especially those in rural or under-resourced areas with limited adoption options. By flying them to rescue partners and forever homes in new locations, we’re giving these animals a second chance at life—one flight at a time.

Adoption Support

Matching Families

Finding the right home is just as important as rescuing the animal. We work closely with potential adopters to ensure each match is thoughtful, safe, and lasting. From introductions to follow-up support, we’re here to guide the journey and set everyone up for success—especially the animals who’ve already been through so much.

Fundraising Campaigns

Supporting Operations

Tail Wind Rescue is a registered 501c3 nonprofit, and every rescue flight, adoption, and second chance we provide is powered by generous donors who believe in our mission. As a volunteer-run organization, we rely entirely on fundraising to cover the costs of transportation, supplies, and shelter support. Without it, we simply can’t do what we do. Every dollar helps us save lives—and brings us one step closer to a world where every animal has a safe place to land.
